Last Monday I spent a hugely enjoyable day aboard the Midnight Star. Huge thanks to Cap’n Glenn Le Santoย and my wonderful crew mates. We boated up The Regent’s Canal from Limehouse Basin to Camden Lock. On arrival I painted a quick water colour sketch of the lock and footbridge. I had nowhere to mix colours up and boy does it show! Still – I’m committed to sharing everything I paint so here it is. Carole said she likes the way the image fades out around the edges ๐Ÿ™‚

Before I knew it I had painted this little doodle and promptly stashed it in the back of my sketch book where it remained until last night. It just…fell out. There’s something about it I quite like, I hope you do too ๐Ÿ™‚

After struggling with trying to capture a landscape earlier in the day, I spotted a tiny clover flower on the way back from the pub in Braunton. In a case of one extreme to another I had a go at painting the flower when we got back to camp. It was raining when I painted this so I had to get a shift on, I think this attempt took me about two minutes start to finish.
