Art for Work’s Sake™ is an innovative and enjoyable way of working designed to help you think differently, and to enable you to introduce more creativity in your work.
Each session is unique as it builds around the discussions and exploration that arise while we are together; my experience shows me that using art, and working in a different space, energises and inspires people who may feel stuck, or perhaps need refuelling.
“I had such a great day. The session got me thinking about how I can apply these methods in a work situation – at team meetings, 1:1 coaching and in vision and strategy setting sessions.”
You can use Art for Work’s Sake to shape new thinking around a particular organisational challenge, such as ‘How can we collaborate more effectively?’ or ‘What do we need to achieve in the next 12 months?’ Exploring questions like these through an artistic lens yields different and exciting results.
“It was great to work on a shared problem solving activity that also allowed individual reflection. I quickly got to the heart of something that had been bothering me for a while, in a way that just talking about it hadn’t enabled.”
As well as integrating elements of Art for Work’s Sake into my consulting practice, it is also available in a stand alone workshop format, and an interactive conference talk and workshop. Together we explore the importance of creativity and why it often doesn’t flourish as easily as it should, before experimenting with a range of techniques to help you be more creative in your work. Since I launched Art for Work’s Sake in 2013 I have run and facilitated Art for Work’s Sake sessions for hundreds people in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Sessions include a takeout for participants of some art materials, any work you create and some online resources to help you to carry on practicing. The experience is great value and great fun and I’d like to invite you to try it as something different.
“An opportunity to reflect and contemplate working life whilst considering how we can use art to be more creative, innovative and effective.”
You can nominate a team, or mixed disciplines from your organisation to develop insights on a shared challenge, or, you could reward a team who have worked hard and would like to capture what’s made them successful.
“It was an inspiring and engaging session that throws you back to being a child in a moment – to look at the world through different eyes, and interpret it through art without any fear of judgement from yourself or others. It would be an amazing team day.”
