As a forerunner to the triptych I posted previously, I sketched this. I didn’t like it, but someone got in touch to say they did, in fact they preferred it to the triptych. So I sent this piece, now titled My Wrong Is Your Right, off to Donna in the Midlands, along with another piece, Splashing Around, that I made whilst experimenting with blowing paint using an empty biro to deliver a high pressure burst of air.

These three pictures emerged when I found myself with a little time to spare in a hotel room in London recently. I was trying to see how I could use very wet paper (water dispensed from an Aquash brush) to move paint around.

The first image, Untitled, revealed something a little floral, maybe something about dance? The second, Roses In The Hospital, was a more deliberate attempt to blend flowers and blood (or red paint), and the third, Pressed, brought to mind pressed flowers. Well it did to me at least!

I painted this last November and forgot to upload it. I’m not used to painting on a square and I struggle to occupy the space. The picture was a birthday card and the intention was to come up with something abstract using liquid water colour on wet and dry paper. I can’t decide which way round it should go!
