Here is my first attempt at using something other than a brush to apply paint. This is a picture made with acrylic paint on canvas board using knives. I gave the picture to Carole this morning as a 20th anniversary gift.

This is the first of six postcards I painted whilst on holiday at Cagnes sur Mer, near Nice. This card was painted for Jay Kuhns and I added in a 51st star on the flag to represent him. I sketched the idea out first to get a sense of spacing. This is my first attempt at using acrylic paint. It dries very quickly and you can overlay colours more easily with acrylic than water colours, but merging and shading is (for me at least) almost impossible at this time.
