Steal with pride

As Jim Jarmusch once said – “nothing is original”. I was going to type his words out then I found them online, already written down. So I stole the work and here it is for you to read:

A great statement by Jim Jarmusch

The lovely Carole disagrees with Jim. She thinks that you (and I) can take stuff that already exists and turn it into something new. Punk = new. DJ’s sampling stuff = new tunes. What about fashions…?

What do you think?

Thanks for all your support and encouragement this week. Keep on keeping on.

  1. Thus it has always been. In music there are only twelve notes and they can be arranged in many ways without it being obvious that theft has taken place…

Compare ‘10538 overture’ by the Electric Light Orchestra with ‘The Changing Man’ by Paul Weller to hear direct theft.
