Friday Fury – Human Capital

Oh boy, I’m in a lot of pain today. For the third or fourth day running, my upper right arm is screaming at me. Barely slept a wink last night, off to see the Doctor in a short while…here’s hoping.

I can currently only type with one hand so today’s pain heightened rant will have to be short.

I hate the term ‘Human Capital’. It’s demeaning and it reduces people to fleshy cogs in a corporate gearbox. Crushed by the wheels of industry. Just because it’s popular, doesn’t make it right, right?

I’m outta here – see you Down at the Doctors.

  1. I couldn’t agree more, Doug. I’ve made it a personal guideline to try to only work with/for organisations that have Personnel departments rather than Human Resources departments – I want to be treated as a human to be valued and nurtured rather than just another resource to be exploited, worn out, and then replaced.

I hope the doctor can do something to reduce the pain and help your arm heal quickly.

  2. Nice post, particularly one armed. In my experience some doctors will simply prescribe painkillers. A physiotherapist may be a good bet to sort out the underlying issue. Either way hope you’re feeling better really soon.
